Tuesday, May 8th was not a typical night at the Stilwell Public Library. The monthly Board of Trustees Meeting was over flowing with good news!

We were thrilled to receive a grant from the Mahaska County Community Foundation for $4,000 to be used to purchase new computers! Both computers will be used in the migration of our collection to the Apollo software. One will have the library's catalog on it for patrons to search for their next great read and the second is a lap top that will help with the entry of our collection into the Apollo software! Pictured in the photo: Kate Hite, Trustee; Margaret Ratcliff, MCCF Board Member; Valerie Brant, Trustee; Dianna Klinker, Director; and Terry Pollard, Trustee.

We also have received news from the State Library of Iowa that the Stilwell Public Library has achieved a Tier 1 Status of Accreditation! This achievement allows our library to participate in the Enrich Iowa Program. The Enrich Iowa Programs includes:

Direct State Aid: for public libraries is intended to improve library services and reduce inequities among communities.

Open Access: for public and academic libraries enables eligible Iowans to check out physical materials from over 600 participating libraries, thereby providing them with direct access to more materials and information resources.

Interlibrary Loan Reimbursement: provides Iowans with equal access to library resources by encouraging and supporting interlibrary loan among all types of libraries.

Thank You New Sharon for your support! We would not have been able to achieve so much in such a short time without your support!
